Powering the BMW M3 for 2017 is a 3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine. It offers a stunning standard output of 425 horsepower. This engine has two mono-scroll turbochargers with innovative variable valve control, which is called Double-VANOS and Valvetronic. The engine also features high-precision direct injection and an auto stop-start function. The M3 is unique with its optimized aerodynamics, track-ready cooling system, and standard six-speed manual transmission. The 2017 M3 delivers the most impressive ride and handling, as it features the exclusive Adaptive M Suspension with electronically controlled damper, M Drive and M Driving Dynamics Control, a lightweight steel subframe, and unique electric power steering with Servotronic. The responsive M3 has Dynamic Stability Control, Brake Drying, Brake Fade Compensation, and Brake Stand-by systems.

Design of BMW M3

The M3 has an amazing style, but it has not been designed just to look stunning, but to enhance aerodynamics at every opportunity. The exterior features a sport exhaust system with quad tailpipes and chrome-plated exhaust tips. The M3 also has a kidney grille with black twin slats, a rear spoiler, aluminum hood with powerdome, and a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic roof. Additionally, the M3 has Xenon Adaptive Headlights with Cornering Lights, dynamic auto-leveling, and Corona headlight-rings. The interior has been crafted with the driver in mind, but the M3 will offer a comfortable and exciting ride no matter where you sit. The 10-way power front M sport seats feature a memory system for the driver, as well as 4-way lumbar support for both the driver and front passenger. The high-quality materials emphasize the upscale atmosphere, and the M3 features a combination of Anthracite Carbon Structure Cloth and leather upholstery. A 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system comes standard, and BMW has equipped their intuitive iDrive infotainment system as well as a navigation system.
